District Additional Joint Collector Mr. B. Ramarao, ordered health department authorities for strict vigil on ultra sound scanning centers in the district. He conducted a district level review meet on PC and PNDT Act with the respective committee officials. He said that it was needed to avert female foeticide in an effective way in the district. He directed the officials to take special care on the issue in the mandals where the female population was noticed less in comparision to male population. Mr. Ramarao also directed the officials to conduct more awareness programmes on the Act in various government colleges of women. Additional DM & HO Dr. Pavan Kumar, District TB Control Officer Dr. Prasanna Kumar, Dr. Subrahmanyeswari, Dr. Venkata Rao and others attended the meeting.
