The Sports and Games Council of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTU-K) here on Friday, decided to include new games like Archery Air Rifle Shooting, Cricket for Women, and Yoga (Men and Women) in its programme. The council had taken this decision in its general body meeting held on Friday. The Council accepted a proposal to conduct games and sports for the employees of JNTU-Hyderabad, JNTU-Kakinada and JNTU-Anantapur. They have also planned workshops, conferences and tournaments for the 2012 academic year. According to this, the council appointed University Physical Director Mr. G.P.Raju as Secretary of the Inter Collegiate Tournaments, and also appointed the University Sports Council Director Mr. G.Syam Kumar as Secretary of the Inter-University Tournaments. Speaking on this, JNTU-K, Vice -Chancellor Dr. G.Tulasi Ram Das has said the formation of a panel for selection committees would be made once in four years. He called upon the physical directors to be sincere and honest in these selections. Mr. G.Syam Kumar, has said 32 varieties of sports and games would be held in the academic year 2012 under JNTU-K.
