Librarian's Day was grandly celebrated yesterday by District Central Library and Gandhi Nagar Library. Mr. Sirkali Ramamrita Ranganathan's birthday is observed as National Librarian's Day. He was a Mathematician and Librarian. He is considered to be the father of Library Science, Information Science and Documentation for his most notable contributions like Five laws of Library science, Colon Classification and Analytico-Synthetic Classification. Librarian M. Srinivas in Gandhi Nagar offered garlands to his Photoframe and said his five laws of library science were very useful to each and every librarian and have become the main base of library science. Central library secretary Saladi Sai Satyanarayana, Venkata Ramana, Ramesh Babu and several others participated in this program.
