Eleven people travelling in a Auto from Chollangi to Ramanna Palem Village met with an Accident at 216 National Highway near Nalamvari Satram in Chollangi. A speed running empty Tipper had hit this Auto with force. With this Auto was crushed. Balasadi Veera Babu (35), Dhanduprolu Dhana Lakshmi (55), Koppadi Seshamma (60), Dhanduprolu Marthamma (55), Seru Naga Mani (45) were spot dead. Palepu Appa Rao, Karri Challayamma, Dhanduprolu Maha Lakshmi, Auto Driver, Chola Sunil and Penupothu Viswanadham were badly injured and were taken to Kakinada Government General Hospital immediately in 108. Collector Neetu Prasad, MLA Ponnada Satish Kumar, DSP Sai Sri and others visited place, where the incident occured and consolated the victim families.
