Today is auspicious day for all the artists of Jaanapadam as Jaanapada Kalaakarula Dinotsavam is celebrated on this day. But today these artists are in grief as this culture is completely vanished as they have no source of existence in todays world. In our district nearly four thousand families are dependend on this cultural art. There are different forms in Jaanapadam like Burra katha, Thappeta Gullu, Veera Natyam, Garaga Nrutyam, Pagati Veshalu, Buda Bukkalu, Koyya Bhommalaata, Dhimsaa Nrutyam, Tambura Nrutyam and Gaaradi. Hundreds of people in Rajahmundry potray Tambura Nrutyam, artists of Veera Natyam are found in Amalapuram, Kothapeta, Palivela and Thapesvaram. As this art is the only support of their life, they requested government to consider their demands. They are requesting to provide them with travelling consession in bus and train journeys. And they were also requesting communication department to provide them oppurtunities to perform and Provide houses, loans with less interests and also wages and pensions of Rs.1000/- per month.
