Interest free Loans to Girijans

A special meeting with Bankers under the control of District Village Poverty Eradication Department and Indira Kanthi Padhakam. This meeting was mainly organised to discuss on how to get control over useless properties, obstinate arrears, how to support weaker section women groups and also on distribution of interest free loans. Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad ordered them to provide interest free loans in agency areas to district Girijan Women Self Help groups. Care should be taken so that they receive these loans in a sequence, she added. Recovery will be more when we are successful in making these women vital, she added. She said that loans are not provided to groups, even when they are elegible. She wished that Bankers should allocate 50% to Agriculture and 50% to Social development. She said that, she will inform to revenue department officials to support Bankers in recovering obstinate arrears. Director Mr. Y.V.Raghu Nadha Reddy said that arrears rate at state level is 13% and 4.81% at district level. 8% on useless properties in state level and 6.3% in district level, he added. He said that if they succeed in recovering all the above said loans, they will provide interest free loans by the month of December. DRDA PD Mr. Madhukar Babu, Andhra Bank DGM Mar. Satyanarayana Murthy, Godavari Grameena Bank DGM  Mr. Phani Kumar and others participated in this meeting.
