District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad has announced that the 'Indiramma Pachatoranam' scheme introduced by the State Government for SC/ ST poor families, will be executed soon in the district. According to this, she has discussed with various department officials in Collectorate here on Yesterday. Speaking on this, she has explained that the aim of the program is to raise horticultural plantations on large tracts of vacant government lands, roads margins, irrigation tanks, drain/canal bunds, etc., in the villages. The fruits, vegetables and other products of these trees, would be given to the small and marginal farmers belongs to SC/ ST communities in the district. Each beneficiary family would be given 200 trees and depending on the interest shown by the beneficiary, maintenance also would be given in course of time, she said. She ordered the officials to identify the vacant government sites in the district by 20th of this month. Also she ordered them to identify the beneficiaries by 31st of this month. She asked them to implement this scheme in association with Upadi Hami scheme. So that the funds will be used under Upadi Hami scheme, she noticed. Sub Collector Mr. Gandam Chandrudu, DWMA PD Mr. Madhusudhan, DRDA PD Mr. Madhukar Babu, RDO's and other relevant officials participated in the program.
