The Biometric System, which is used in the supply of ration in district is really appreciatable, stated by the Jharkhand State Officials Team. A five-member officials team from Jharkhand State Government, visited some ration shops in the district as a part of their official visit and studied the implementation of Aadhaar based 'e-pos' system for supplying essentials through public distribution network. Later, the team met the District Joint Collector Mr. Ahmed Babu here, at Collectorate in Kakinada. They discussed about the implementation of biometric system with him, also requested him to provide software and other technology for adopting the same in their state. The Joint Collector has explained about e-pos' system adopted for implementation of the Aadhaar seeded public distribution network. He also briefed them on the Aadhaar enrollment, organic and inorganic seeding of families, data base compilation, beneficiaries authentication, ensuring connectivity with Aadhaar data base, installation of servers, MOUs signed with BSNL and Infonics organisations, designing of micro ATMs suited to public distribution system, software and hardware applications. The Joint Collector also explained the project and operational modes adopted at the field level for materialising the whole system. The team appreciated the district authorities for implementing the system perfectly in the district. The team led by Ajay Kumar Singh, the Secretary for Food and Civil Supplies of Jharkhand.
