The launch of Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG (DBTL) scheme will be started from 1st of June, 2013 in 20 high Aadhaar coverage districts in the country. According to this, the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Mr. Veerappa Moily had released a press note here on Wednesday. Previously, it has confirmed that the scheme will be started on 15th May, but due to the pending registrations of the consumers, it has been postponed. The consumers will have the time upto 31st May to complete the seeding of their Aadhaar & bank account, and also to link up their account to National Payment of India (NPI). Till now, a total 3 Lakh consumers were completed the Aadhaar seeding process in the district. So, remaining consumers also required to complete the seeding before 31st May to get the subsidy on cooking gas. It is strictly noticed by the government that no consumer will benefit the scheme, if their aadhaar seeding process not completed before the last date. Speaking on this, the District Joint Collector Mr. A.Babu has stated that the DBTL scheme will be strictly implemented from 1st June, for all those consumers who have completed their seeding process before 31st May, 2013. The consumers, who are unable to complete the process before 31st May, will not get the subsidy but they have a chance to submit their Aadhaar & bank account details before 15th of August to avail the benefit later, he added.
