Provide Basic Facilities to Student

Rajya Sabha member T. Ratna Bai visited the boys hostel of Ambedkar College located near Balaji Cheruvu and interacted with students this Tuesday. She asked the officials of Social Welfare Department to take immediate steps to make payment of scholarships and mess bills to the students who were staying in hostels run by the Government. As the students told her that they were not being paid mess charges for the last one year and the hostel mess was closed three days ago, Ms. Ratna Bai tcalled up the Principal Secretary and Joint Director of the Social Welfare Department and asked them to solve the problem at the earliest. Joint Director told her that the mess bill was pending with the treasury, responding to this Ms. Ratna Bai said that the students could not focus on their education in the absence of basic facilities. She asked the officials to make sure that the problem would not happen again in future. The MP assured the students of taking steps to solve the long-pending problems of the hostel and to provide basic facilities like uninterrupted power supply, drainage system and dinning hall. She advised students to focus on securing good marks in their academics.
