At a public meeting held at the Collectorate, Chairman of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of employees and workers Mr. A.Ramanaidu, INTUC leader Mr. Ch. Lakshmi Narayana and AITUC district general secretary Mr. P. Satyanarayana criticized the elected representatives for focusing more on their salaries and allowances rather than the civic issues. In response to a call given by the national trade unions, employees and workers of government departments observed one-day strike here on Tuesday. A huge rally was taken out from head post office to Collector's office, in which hundreds of employees and workers raised slogans against the ‘anti-people' and ‘anti-worker' policies of the government. They demanded that the government implement the labor laws without fail and take steps to ensure basic amenities to the poor people.
