District Collector, Mr. M. Ravi Chandra called upon the Mandal Development Officers and Tahsildars to discuss the need for spreading the services of Indian Red Cross Society to the Mandal-Level and strengthening the organization with the involvement of rural youth. Addressing the Annual General Body of the Society's District Unit at Ambedkar Bhavan, Mr. Ravi Chandra, the Collector and President of the Society's District Unit, said the District Unit topped in the State with regard to membership enrolment and service activities. He congratulated all the members for the achievement. The unit won 100 gold medals, 37 silver medals and 70 Junior Red Cross service certificates for 2008-09. Collector's wife, Mrs. Padmavathi Ravi Chandra, Society's Secretary, Mr. P. Durga Raju, executive committee members A. Vijayalakshmi, Y.D. Rama Rao and others were present.
