Power Cut Plunge City into Darkness

As per the bandh call given by APEPDCL Seemandhra JAC, nearly 1,842 Regular & 496 Contract employees went on indefinite strike from the district in support to the Samaikyandhra agitation. There are around 124 substations in the district. But due to this agitation, almost all the substations were closed lack of staff. The agitation hits hardly the power supply, water supply and train services. The city plunged into darkness and essential services like healthcare, water supply and transport hit by the continues power cut on Monday. Hundreds of patients in government hospitals were suffering in darkness as life-saving surgeries were postponed. Doctors refused to treat patients under candlelight. Sources said, a total 36 Cell towers were damaged in the district lack of the sufficient power supply. Meanwhile, all sections of people suffering alot with the power cuts.

Though the South Central Railway and the South Eastern Railway arranged additional diesel engines to run trains in the absence of power supply, thousands of passengers were still stranded in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Nellore, Gudur, Done, Tirupathi and Vizianagaram stations. The Railway officials stated that due to the absence of power supply, all the Trains running towards Vijayawada were cancelled Today ie., Tuesday. Here the details of the cancelled trains:
