AP Transco Employees Strike for Samaikyandhra has hit the power supply and train services here on Sunday. The employees went on Indefinite Strike on Sunday from Morning 6am against to the Cabinet's approval for Telangana note. This strike has hit power generation in Coastal Andhra and also transmission across the State. The large scale power cuts imposed across the state. As many as 1,847 Transco Employees from the district are went on this strike. This will hardly effect the power supply in the district.
Many trains were cancelled as power supply was switched off in the entire thirteen districts of Seemandhra on Sunday. Officials said, around 40 trains on Vijayawada-Gudur-Renigunta, Kazipeta-Vijayawada, Vijayawada-Gudur-Tirupati route were cancelled and Several trains were diverted Yesterday. No effect on long distance trains. They said that they were stopping movement of goods trains and cancelling passenger trains, in order to ensure movement of express trains. The Railway officials released the helpline numbers of some main stations for the sake of public on this issue.
