The National Fish Farmers Day was celebrated, here on Wednesday, at Central Institute for Fisheries Education (CIFE) in Kakinada. According to this, the Rural MLA Mr. Kanna Babu has presided over the program as a chief guest. Speaking on this, he said, young scientists should gain knowledge in Fisheries education. He underscored the need for further research into fish and prawn culture, as the demand for sea foods was increasing steadily in the international market. Marking the day, the CIFE felicitated two fish farmers Yella Satti Lingam of Balabhadrapuram and Billakurthi Srinivasa Reddy of Tallarevu, here. Seed of L. Vannemei variety was released into the brackish water fish farm by scientist and activist T. Rajyalakshmi in this program. Mr. Kanna Babu appreciated all the fish farmers on this occasion. Scientists Chamundeswari, P.Rami Reddy, Dr. Padmavathi, Anjali, Ravi Shankar Patnaick and others participated in the program.
