Referring to the deaths, District Collector, Mr. M. Ravi Chandra said that 14 deaths and 3 man-missing cases were reported so far and a sum of Rs. 2 Lakhs would be distributed to the family of the deceased after completion of the procedure. District Incharge Minister, Mr. Botcha Satyanarayana asked the heads of all departments to send proposals to take up repairs both on temporary and permanent basis to the assets that were damaged. Rural Water Supply Minister, Mr. Pinipe Viswarup said that he require the division of delta modernization project on gradual basis to attract contractors. Otherwise, no one is coming forward to take up the project and the absence of modernization works is causing a lot of damage to agriculture, he added.
