2nd Convocation Grandly held @JNTUK

The Second Convocation of JNTUK was held yesterday at Alumni Auditorium. Ex Delhi Metro Chief and Padma Vibhushan Dr. Sridharan attending as a chief guest and attracted everyone. Dr. Sridharan, wellknown in National and International level was an old student of JNTUK. He was very much surprised to see the changes and how JNTUK has developed day by day. I am very glad that many people including who studied in this college are well settled and renowned persons in National and International wide, he added. He discussed on how future engineers should contribute in our country's progress and how to implement thier skills successful. Engineering pursuing students require dedication, hardwork and sound health and the most important all the above is Time Management, he added. He also said that his Lecturer Mr. Seethapathi has been his role model in this matter. He also discussed on how standards of engineering has fallen down and about the negligence formed in students. Later he discussed about the importance of Convocation in students life. Vice Chancellor of JNTUK Dr. Tulasi Ramdas said that Universities are like temples for acquiring knowledge and said nothing is impossible in this world to people with determination and hardwork. Later discussing about the progess of the University he said that Rs.75 crores were spent on construting buildings in JNTU Kakinada and Vijayanagaram campus. Nine faculty members were sent to states for visiting International Universities and Colleges and 1,104 faculty members were given training under Mission 10X program, he added. He also said that they have adopted 122 villages under NSS program. 340 students were provided placement by 15 companies, he added. He said they are going to build a new library in the campus with Rs.6 crore. In this Convocation program 26,446 students will be honoured, they declared. As a part of this cultural programs were conducted by the students in the night.
