World Blood Donors Day was observed here on Tuesday at meeting hall of Government General Hospital in Kakinada. As a part of this event GGH Superintendent Dr. M.B.R.Sharma, GGH Blood Bank Health Officer Dr. Satyavani and Kakinada Medical Prevention & Control Officer Mr. Kiran Kumar felicitated the people who donated their blood several times to the hospital blood bank. Blood bank has selected three members from the donors list as they have donated blood several times. They are Sigma cell point agent Mr. A.Mohan Rao who donated blood 48 times, P.V.R Trust PG College Director Mr. P.Manikumar donated for 20 times and Mr. K.Srinivas donated 12 times. They have also felicitated Rangaraya Medical College Principal Dr. Vikram Kumar. Speaking on this, Dr. Vikram Kumar stated that "We can save many lives by donating our blood" and he added that people who are donating blood would have a good level of general health. Later, Dr. M.B.R.Sharma and Dr. Vikram Kumar started the Blood Component Separator Unit (BCSU) in the hospital.
