A tenant farmer died under suspicious conditions at Gollapalem village on the city outskirts. According to the police, Valluri Rama Rao, 48, was cultivating paddy in two acres and incurred losses due to the recent cyclone. On Sunday morning, family members marked the body of Rama Rao in the farm field. The police suspected that he might have consumed pesticide. A case has been registered and investigation is on. In another incident, a welder died when fire broke out in an oil mill at Sarpavaram on Sunday. The victim was identified as Gollapalli Venkata Ratnam alias Raju, 22, a welder in Gauthami Edible Oils and a resident of Sammavaram village on the city outskirts. The accident took place in the afternoon, when Raju sustained severe burns and died on the spot. A case was registered.
