Kudipoodi Savitri (65) was suffering from a severe stomach pain from past two years. She could not even move about as her stomach was highly bulged up. Doctors from private hospitals who checked her said treatment is not possible for her anymore in this condition. Relatives of Savitri shifted her to Government General Hospital for treatment. Doctors of GGH removed 15 Kgs of lump from her stomach and extended her life span. Under Arogya Sri Scheme, Savitri who belongs to a poor family had undertaken the treatment. Head of the Surgery Department, Mr. K.Babji said that this lump is known as ‘Retroperitoneal Lipo Sarcoma’. This lump resulted in kidney related problems and and could have proved to be fatal he added. In this operation, Dr. R.Maha Lakshmi, Dr. Sailaja, Dr. J.Kishore, Dr. Bhavani, Dr. Ramarao and PG students participated.
