T.Padmavathamma, Project Director (PD) of Andhra Pradesh State Micro Irrigation Project (APMIP) has requested the farmers to make use of subsidies for drip irrigation in their agricultural practices in the district. According to this, she had released a press note here on Friday. She said that the government encourages the drip irrigation system in their fields and by giving various subsidies to SC, ST and small & marginal farmers. She said that the SC, ST farmers can get 100 per cent subsidy upto Rs. 1 lakh and small farmers for 90 per cent of subsidy, meanwhile marginal farmers get 75 per cent of subsidy. She asked the farmers to apply for the subsidy.
