Marking the 63rd death anniversary of Indian barrister and statesman Sardar Vallabhbhai Jhaverbhai Patel, the 'Run for Unity' was grandly observed here on Sunday. This event was organised by the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Ekta Trust in all parts of the country. The BJP party holds this 2K run and seek support for the construction of a 182-metre Patel's statue called 'Statue of Unity' in Gujarat. The programme was part of hundreds of rallies held simultaneously across the country to spread the message of national unity and to seek support for the mega project. This 2K Run was started from Vivekananda park in Kakinada. Vallabhai Patel Ekta trust district Co-ordinator Mr. Y.Malakondayya has flagged off this rally marathon in the town. Anaparthi MLA Mr. Nallamilli Seshareddy, other officials Mr. Y.D.Ramarao, Mr. Pydah Krishna Mohan, Mr. Jyothula Venkateswara Rao, Mr. Grandi Babji, Mr. Bikkina Visweswara Rao, Mr. Vetukuri Suryanarayana Raju, Mr. Durga Prasad, Mr. Yarlagadda Ram Kumar, Mr. Kuchimanchi Venugopal, Mr. Aditya Sarma and others participated in the run.
