Security guards working in Special Economic Zone (SEZ) yesterday participated in an agitation at Collectorate. This strike was organised under the leadership of their union president Mr. T. Changala Rao. This protest is made in the demand of their salary hike. They demanded to provide them with the minimum salary. They submitted that 19 members who were driven into losses in SEZ were appointed as Security guards but were not provided with minimum salary. The PF and ESI arrears were not released from the year 2008, they added. They allegated that they have not even provided them with a identity card. They requested them to provide them leaves and insurance as per labour rules. They demanded to provide them with increments and bonus every year. They requested to remove the present organisation who is running SEZ and requested to hand over it to either KSEZ or GMR organisation. Later they handed over the request letter to Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad.
