State Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Bhanwarlal visited the district here on Saturday and conducted a review meet with Collector Mrs. Neethu Kumari Prasad, In-charge Collector Mr. B.Ramarao, Tahsildars, Elections Deputy Tahsildars and Booth level Officers on the Survey which is conducting for the corrections in Voters list at Collectorate Court hall in Kakinada. He wondered about the percentage of youth between 18-19years age voters in the district. There is a huge variation in that percentage compared to other districts. It is just 0.9% of youth between 18-19 age that are enrolled for voter id. The women voters list is also to be re-examined. He ordered the officials to conduct special drives and camps in the areas near to colleges and industries to create awareness in youth about voting. He noticed that the survey should be complete by 10th of this month along with the data entry works. Speaking on this, Collector Neethu Kumari said that the household survey for electoral rolls revision was completed to the extent of 85 per cent and already 70,000 voters sought corrections in their names and addresses. Mr. Bhanwarlal had announced that nearly 28 thousand voters are removed from the list because of those some people were died, some people went to other places and some other were married. A total of 70 thousand voters are applied for the modifications of their details in voters list and nearly 21 thousand new voters are enrolled till now that he added.
