The festival of sacrifice 'Eid al-Adha' popularly known as Bakrid was celebrated grandly here on Wednesday in Kakinada. Gaiety and fervour marked the Bakrid celebrations in the city on the day. People offered special prayers in mosques and exchanged greetings and gifts on the occasion. The festival was marked by the tradition of sacrificing goats and the meat shared between families, neighbours and the poor as is the custom. Muslims greet ed one another ‘Eid Mubarak’ and shared their warmth. On this occasion, all political parties leaders from the district were invited to the special prayers, which are performed by Muslims at Idgah grounds in JNTU Kakinada. TDP Leaders Mr. Kondababu, Mr. Pothula Viswam, Congress Leader & Rural MLA Mr. Kurasala Kannababu, YSRCP Leaders Mr. Dwarampudi Chandra Shekar Reddy, Mr. Chellaboina Venu, Mr. Chalamalasetty Suneel, SP Mr. Siva Shankar Reddy, Mr. Mutha Gopala Krishna were attended.
