The Phailin Cyclone is set to hit the state with full fury from Saturday afternoon, whipping up a storm surge upto 10 feet above the tide level. Touching wind speeds of 210-220 km an hour, the cyclone Phailin will pose a threat to low-lying villages in the coastal areas. The rains are likely to be heavy and continuous. According to this, the district authorities taking necessary precautions to face the cyclone. Employees from all departments in the district are ready to work on emergency, even they are in Samaikyandhra strike due to this cyclone threat.
