The District Irrigation Advisory Board meeting was held here on Friday at the Collectorate in Kakinada. According to this, the Stamps & Registrations Minister Mr. Thota Narasimham had presided over the meeting along with the District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad and other respective officials. MLA's Mr. Kurasala Kanna babu, Mrs. Vanga Geeta, Mr. Pantham Gandhi Mohan, Mr. Thota Trimurthulu and Mr. Parvatha Chittibabu were attended this meet. Speaking on this, the MLA's alleged that the higher officials in the irrigation dept at Hyderabad were not paying attention on the works in the district. They demanded the government to sanction most of the works in the district itself. They should not be sanctioned in Hyderabad, they added. They expressed anger over the officials on this. Responding to this, the Minister Mr. Thota Narasimham said that the technical and administration sanctions were obtained for Yeleru Reservoir modernisation works and funds also were sanctioned, but the officials did not take up the works. However, the tardy pace of irrigation works in the district came for criticism in this meet.
