The state government has issued a fund of Rs.1,04,50,000 Cr for the construction of government Go-downs to store the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM's) in the district. According to the orders of State Chief Election Officer Mr. Banwarlal, the district engineering dept officials have started the construction works at R&B Guest house premises near to Collectorate in Kakinada. These works will be completed by the end of December 2013. Around 3000 & above number of EVM's are using for elections in the district. Presently, these EVMs are stored in State Ware Housing Corporation Go-downs near Port Railway station in Kakinada. The government has paying rent for these go-downs, sources said.
