In the presence of Revenue Divisional Officer G.C. Kishore Kumar, the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) that were stored in local godowns were shown to the leaders of all political parties this Tuesday. This is due to the orders issued by the Election Commission that the physical verification of EVMs must be done by all political parties. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kishore said that it would take one week to complete the physical verification of EVMs in all the 19 Legislative Assembly constituencies. During the verification, numbers of the control unit, ballot unit, date of manufacturing of the EVM and other details would be recorded in a proforma consisting of 11 columns. All the 9,262 EVMs that were used during the last elections were stored in the godown. If we found any technical problem in any of the EVMs, they will be send to Hyderabad for repairs, as per the directive of the Election Commission he added.
