Collector M. Ravi Chandra asked the officials of various departments to prepare plans in advance to provide services to the public during calamities. Addressing the flood committee meeting this Wednesday, Mr. Ravi Chandra said that there is every possibility of occurrence of floods in August every year. Officials must check whether the material required was available or not in the flood stores. He also said that officials from revenue and irrigation departments must take care of the materials. He asked the District Medical and Health Officer to appoint medical staff to all the flood relief camps without fail. The special officers must visit the relief camps and make sure that food, water and medicines are distributed in time. Mr. Ravi Chandra announced that generators would be distributed to all the 13 Tahasildars, whose district headquarters are located along the coast which can used during floods. In the recent heavy cyclone ‘Laila,' Governor wrote a letter appreciating the way officers were prepared to face cyclone and overcome from huge loss. Joint Collector K. Sasidhar, Additional Joint Collector Ramarao, DRO S.Venkatarao and others were present.
