The 48hrs Samaikyandhra Bandh called by the Rashtra Samaikya Parirakshana Vedika, was total and peaceful, barring few sporadic incidents of violence in Kakinada against to the Cabinet's approval of Telangana note. Normal life was hit hardly in these two days due to the bandh. All the educational institutions, business establishments, shops, companies, etc., kept their shutters down, with people from all walks of life extending their support for the cause of united state 'Samaikyandhra'. Few incidents of violence were reported during the 2nd consecutive day of bandh. Angry protests, rallies & hunger fasts were taken place in the city by the agitators against to the Centre's decision to go ahead with the proposed formation of a separate Telangana state. Some of the agitators took out a mock funeral procession with the effigy of Congress President Sonia Gandhi here. The supporters stage a rasta roko affecting the vehicular movement on the National highways. They have not allowed outer vehicles to the city by blocking all the entrances of the city. JNTU-K Students, Medical College Students, Staff Nurses, Endowments dept staff and many other section people participated in the agitation along with the NGOs, Teachers & Employees District JAC.
