District Collector, Mr. M.Ravi Chandra stated that, developing a country with large population is as difficult as running a family with more number of children. He participated as the chief guest at World Population Day observed here at Collectorate. He suggested that each family must have maximum two children, as it is possible to focus and provide good education. Collector presented awards to officers and staff who conducted various awareness programs on population control and family welfare programs in association with Medical & Health Department. Earlier, Rally was conducted from DMHO Office to Collectorate. Nursing students, Voluntary Organizations, Medical health staff participated in this rally. Additional Medical Health Officer, Mr. Pavan Kumar had participated in the flag-off of the rally. In order to mark the World Population Day, lucky dip and various competitions like Essay writing and Elocution were conducted. Prizes were presented to the winners in this competition. The best First Aid Health centers award was given to PHC’s of Todangi, Rayavaram and Kotananduru. Awards were also given to Surgeons, Staff Nurses, ANM’s, MPHA(M), Asha Workers and Anganwadi workers who provided best services. Additional DMHO Dr.M.Pavan Kumar, District Immunization Officer Dr.Murali Krishna, District TB Control Officer Dr.Prasanna Kumar were present.
