Vitamin-A syrup will be administered free of cost to all the children under five years of age in the district from 2nd to 7th of December 2013. According to this, the District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad had launched the programme here on Monday at Jagannaickpur first referal Hospital in Kakinada. Speaking on this, she stated that this Vitamin-A is being administered to children to avoid eye infections & diseases. She said, this syrup will be administered through mouth at sub-health centres, community health centres and anganwadi centres in the district. One ml will be given to infants between 6 and 11 months of age, and two ml for those between 12 and 60 months of age, she noticed. It will be administered by village health nurses and urban health nurses in association with Anganwadi workers in the district, she added. Municipal Corporation Health Officer Mr. K.Madhusudhan Rao and others were participated in the program.
