Mrs.Chandana Khan, special chief secretary of Tourism department stated that they have started development of tourism in the district with a fund of Rs.12 crores. Yesterday in Collectorate, she organised a conference along with Collector Mrs.Neetu Kumari Prasad to discuss on topics like Beach Festival and Beach Park. On this occasion she said that with these two mega projects development of tourism is going to be increased. We are going to develope Temple tourism circuits in Sarpavaram, Draksharamam, Pithapuram and Samalkot with a fund of Rs.7 crores, she added. She also said that they are going establish Silparamam near beach. She said that they are organising Land Scaping, Resorts, electricity supply and benches for the Beach Festival that is going to be held from 30th of October to 2nd of November. Very soon we will develope Hope Island as a Tourist Spot, she added. She declared that they are going to setup a state level Hotel Management Institute in Moolapeta near Uppada and ordered Collector to send her a manifesto for the same. MP Harsha Kumar requested to provide support in organising Konaseema Festivals for Sankranti and also to appoint new team for Hope Island. Collector responded on this and said that will take steps appoint the team for Hope Island after discussing with ONGC. Later they said that they are going to allocate Rs.10 lakhs from MP fund for organising solar lamps and Lavatories. Later a book on "Konaseema Tourism" was inaugurated by Mrs.Chandana Khan. This book narrates the beauty and specialities of Konaseema. MP Mr.J.V.Harsha Kumar, MLA Mrs.Vanga Geeta also participated in this meet.
