Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad requested everyone to use only mud idols of lord Ganesh. State pollution control board and world protection and preservation board combinedly organised distribution of mud idols of lord Ganesh yesterday at Bhanugudi center. Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad attended as a chief guest to this program. They distributed these idols for a nominal price of Rs.2/- each. On this occasion Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad said that Rs.1 Lakh was sanctioned to distribute 10,000 mud idols in Kakinada and 1000 mud idols in Rajahmundry. Addtional joint Collector Mr. B. RamaRao, pollution Control ED Mr. Pramod Kumar and others participated in this program. V. S. Lakshmi College NSS students distributed mud idols in Boat Club, Rajendra Nagar and Siddhartha Nagar by explaining the calamities that are going to be caused with usage of POP idols.
JNTUK director Mr. V. Raveendra, yesterday inaugurated the Gallery with 108 idols of Lord Vinayaka made with eco friendly materials. Students made those idols with materials like soaps, jaggery, automobile spare parts etc.
Aditya Women Degree College students conducted a perception program at Dairyfarm center on calamities that are going to be caused with usage of coloured idols. Co Ordinator B.E.V.L Naidu and many students participated in this program.
