District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad has called the public to use Eco-friendly Ganesh Idols instead of Plaster of Paris Idols during the 'Ganesh Chaturthi' festival in order to protect the water bodies from pollution and other side affects. Yesterday, National Greencore (NGC) Students from MSN Charities School, Kakinada were made clay idols of Lord Ganesh and conducted a publicity compaign in the city, in view of Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Later, they distributed clay idols to the Collector, DEO, DyDEO, RMSA Dy Education Officer and other officials at their offices in Kakinada. Speaking on this, the Collector has asked the people to perform the festival by installing the idols made of paper, cloth, cotton, sand and bamboo which are degradable to protect our environment.
