A small earthquake, shook the ground in Kakinada here on Sunday evening around 6pm. People residing in few apartments like Vinay Homes at Venkat nagar, Garudadri Towers at Kondayyapalem & Dora Apartment at Ramaraopeta areas observed effect of earthquake. People panicked in some areas once the information spread among friends and relatives. Listening about the news, District Collector Mr. M. Ravi Chandra & RDO Mr. Kishore Kumar along with Police and Municipal Corporation Department officials visited those areas immediately and observed the situation. Speaking on this, Collector Mr. Ravi Chandra said that ‘there is no problem right now in the city due to the earthquake as we contacted the respective mythological department officials’ . and later he released the control room numbers; 0884-2365428 & 1066 (Toll free). Speaking with media, residents of those apartments said that their families panicked due to sudden movement of things in their flats.
