Seemandhra Bandh Continues Today

Normal life was completely hit in Kakinada here on Thursday due to the entire Seemandhra bandh, which was called by the APNGOs and some Political Parties in protest against the Telangana bill. The entire Seemandhra region witnessed a total shutdown in response to the bandh call. The bandh was by and large peaceful. All the shops, malls, govt & private offices, banks and other commercial establishments were remain closed. Educational Institutions too declared holiday. Protesters stopped APSRTC from operating buses till afternoon by staging rasta rokos near depots. Merchants voluntarily closed down shops. Noon shows were cancelled in cinema theatres. The protesters roamed in streets, and forced banks and central government offices to participate in the bandh. Protesters staged rasta roko on National highways. The APNGOs association and the YSRCP gave another call for bandh on Friday in protest against the 'attack' on Seemandhra MPs in Parliament.
