The entire Seemandhra bandh, which was called by the Rashtra Samaikya Parirakshana Vedika and some Political parties to protest against the attack on Seemandhra MPs, passed off peacefully in East Godavari district here on Friday. Responding to this, the Samaikyandhra protagonists severely criticized the way of Congress party in the state bifurcation issue here. They have condemned the Telangana MPs violence act on Seemandhra MPs in the parliament. Some of the protesters thronged the bus stations at the break of dawn and staged a demonstration to prevent plying of buses here. Educational institutions, offices, shops, malls & other commercial establishments remained closed in view of the bandh. Banks, India post, BSNL and other Central government offices remained closed. The District APNGO's led by its President Mr. Buriga Ashirvadam burnt the effigy of UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and other central Ministers in protest against the way in which the bill was introduced in Lok Sabha.
