A great Social Reformer & First Women Teacher of India, Smt. Savitribai Phule's 180th Birth Anniversary celebrations were observed here on Tuesday by B.C Employees Welfare Association in Kakinada. According to this, Kakinada Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Ravi Kumar presided over the celebrations as a chief guest. Firstly, all the officials offered garlands to Savitribai Phule's picture near Jyotirao Phule's statue in Kakinada. Speaking on this, Mr. Ravi Kumar stated that Country could develop only when the Women are educated. He said, Savitribai Phule is a great social reformer who was influential in the field of women education in India. She was born in unpleasant conditions but she had become as one such extraordinary woman who fought against the male bigotry in India and became the light of knowledge who illuminated the lives of millions of women in India, he added.
