District Level Shuttle Badminton Championship competitions has been started at SRMT Indoor stadium in the premises of officers club by collector this Friday. While addressing sports person collector said that Shuttle Badminton is the most admirable sport after cricket. Smt. Lakshmi, wife of Pullela Gopi Chand was the first Indian to participate in shuttle badminton at Olympics. Sports person will also have great job opportunities he added. Kakinada City MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhar Reddy said that Shuttle Badminton in villages can be developed with the help of District Association. District Shuttle Badminton Association President Chundru Govinda Raju presided in this program. While participating, he said that this is a 3 day competition and nearly 300 sportsperson are participating in this. Competitions Organizing Secretary Prasad said that free accommodation and food facility is arranged for the participants. District Association Chief Patron Baami Reddy, Dwarampudi Trust Chairman Dwarampudi Veerabadhra Reddy, PD Krishna Babu, Association Members participated in this program. Under-13, Under-16, Under-19 competitions were held this Friday and winners of this competitions will participate in State level competitions.
