Nearly 400 NCC cadets here on Wednesday took out a rally from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Kakinada (JNTU-K) to Bhanugudi Junction. In order to mark the launch of National Cadet Corps (NCC) Day, this rally has been conducted to create awareness among the people about the use of non-conventional energy. Flagging off the rally, Principal of the JNTUK Engineering College, Mr. P. Udaya Bhaskar stressed the need for promoting the use of non-conventional energy among the public on a large scale, as conventional energy sources were creating lot of damage to the environment. The problem of shortage of conventional energy resources to the future generations can be avoided by making the present generation switch over to the non-conventional energy at least to some extent, he added. Holding placards with slogans on non-conventional energy sources such as solar energy and wind power, the cadets raised slogans “Save Energy” and “Save Electricity.” Commanding Officer Wing Commander Mr. D. Kamesh, Flying Officer Mr. T. Ranga Babu and others were present.
