Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme-2014 was launched here on Sunday, by the District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad from Recharlapeta Urban health centre in Kakinada. Speaking on this, she said, it is very much essential to give these drops to the below 5yrs children every year to make our country as polio free. It was very appreciatable that no single case was filed for polio disease after 2012 in the country, she felt. A total 3,250 polio booths were arranged in the district, she said. Door-to-Door immunisation programme will be conducted on Monday for the children who were not administered the drops, she added. In-charge DM&HO Mr. Venkata Ratnam, In-charge DIO Dr. Pavan Kumar, Dr. Mallik, UHC Mr. Surya Narayana, State Observer A.V.D.Vara Lakshmi, Red Cross Society District Representative Mr. Durga Raju, MHO Mr. Madhusudhan Rao, Additional Municipal Commissioner Satyaveni and other officials participated in the program.
