The National Children's Day was grandly celebrated here on Thursday, marking the birthday of first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Sri Jawaharlal Nehru. The nation on Thursday, paid rich tribute to Chacha Nehru on his 124th birth anniversary. On this occasion, all the schools in the district celebrated the day grandly by conducting various activities to the children. On this occasion, Mc Laurin High School Kakinada conducted several cultural activities to their students here at the school premises. According to this, the RDO Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru has participated in the program as a chief guest. Bal Bhavan Kakinada have conducted district level music & dance competitions for students. A huge number of students from different schools participated in these competitions. Gandhi nagar Mahatma Gandhi Municipal school, Salipeta Girls High school and many other government & private schools observed the celebrations. District Educational Officer (DEO) Mr. K.V.Srinivasula Reddy, Additional Joint Collector (AJC) Mr. Markhandeyulu and many other officials participated as chief guests to the celebrations organised by various schools in the district.
