Union Minister of Tourism Dr. K.Chiranjeevi has laid foundation stone for the works worth Rs.30 crores in the district. Also, he announced Rs.50 crores worth new scheme, which is related to three districts, on his 1-day official visit to E.G District, here on Saturday. Speaking with public in a open meeting at Uppada Kothapalli, he explained 'what he has done and what he is going to do to the district after getting the ministry'. He stated that he will develop the East Godavari District Tourism. He offered Rs. 80 crores worth tourism works to the district. He said "I'm selfish about the godavari districts, because I belong to Godavari districts, so I want to do more development works for East & West godavari districts". He also stated that he had proposed Rs.50 crores worth Konaseema, Papikondalu, Bhadrachalam Mega Tourism circuit project to the Government. This tourism circuit will be helpful to travel from Konaseema to Papikondalu towards Bhadrachalam. This project will be started soon, he announced. Later, he laid the foundation stone for Eco Park in Kakinada Rural Vakalapudi Beach worth of Rs.7.50 crores. He had also laid foundation stones for the Indian Institute of Hotel Management school building in Uppada High School premises, Silparamam Park and Corangi Tourism Cottage building. As a part of this, he travelled in a tourism boat at Corangi forest area. The program was held under the chairmanship of Rural MLA Mr. Kurasala Kannababu. District Ministers, MLA's, MLC's and many other officials participated in the program.
