Mayor Smt. Kavikondala Saroja inaugurated the 10-day exhibition-cum-sale of handicrafts and handlooms at Venkateswara Function hall near Cinema Hall Road this Friday. The Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation organized this exhibition. Artisans and weavers from different parts of the State displayed their works in the exhibition. Sarees, dress materials, towels, blankets and decorative pieces were the special attractions of the show. Speaking on the occasion, Smt. Saroja appreciated the artisanship of artisans and weavers who participated in the exhibition. She said that the Government was encouraging the artisans and weavers through the Handicrafts development corporation, which was running ‘Lepakshi' showrooms. The Manager of the Lepakshi's Rajahmundry showroom Mr. M. Kumara Ratnam said that the exhibition is open between 10am to 9pm until 26th of September and a special discount of 10 per cent was available on all purchases.
