National Agricultural Laborers Union demanded to withdraw the Thermal Power Project in Kakinada Special Economic Zone (SEZ), which generates 6000 Mega Watt power. Union State Secretary Mr. Ainaapurapu Surya Narayana and District Secretary Mr. Dandangi Ramarao released a statement here on Sunday. Speaking on this, they said that due to generation of thermal power, the most toxic residue would be released which is very harmful for human life. Due to this, area upto 25Km to 35Km will be contaminated and residents of Kakinada will be infected with diseases, they added. Managing Director of Kakinada Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Pvt Ltd, Mr. KV Rao had sign illegal contract with GMR Power Plant in 24th of December 2010. They also ascribed that, Mr. Rao is using the name of Director and Managing Director and using unregistered companies, they added.
