The Inter-University Centre (IUC) for Teacher Education, which was sanctioned by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTU-K) has been inaugurated, here on Sunday. The Central Minister for Human Resources Development Mr. M.M.Pallam Raju and the University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof. Ved Prakash were presided over the program as chief guests & inaugurated the centre. Speaking on this, Mr. Pallam Raju has stated that the 12th Five Year plan is being prepared with a motto to provide good higher education for all the students in the country. Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh is first to sanction huge funds for education in the country, he stated. He said that the IUC is being established with funds of Rs. 300 Crores in JNTU-K premises. Later, Mr. Ved Prakash has felt that the Kakinada city is developing more fastly in the entire state. IUC Higher Education Joint Secretary Mr. R.P.Sisodia, State Higher Education Commission Chairman Dr. Venugopal Reddy, JNTU-K Vice Chancellor Dr. Tulasi Ram Das, State Standing Council Academic Senate for Higher Education Chairman Mr. K.V.V.Satyanarayana Raju were presided over the program and expressed their feelings on this. MP Ratnabhai, District Collector Mrs. Neetu Kumari Prasad, IUC Co-ordinator Mr. Srinivasa Kumar, JNTU-K Rector Mr. Prabhakar Rao, Registrar Mr. Prasad Raju, MLA's Mr. Kurasala Kannababu, Mrs. Vanga Geeta and others attended this program.
