The 105th birth anniversary of Babu Jagjivan Ram was celebrated here on Thursday in Kakinada. According to this, Minister of State for Defence, Mr. M.M.Pallam Raju presided over the program as a chief guest. He paid tributes to Jagjivan Ram on the occasion of his birth anniversary by offering garlands to his statue near Ladies Club in Kakinada. Speaking on this, he lauded his services and suggested to the consider him as inspiration and walk in his path. Minister of State for Defence called upon the people to emulate former Deputy Prime Minister Babu Jagjivanram as a role model as he had set an example to others in politics by working for the uplift of weaker sections in the society. He stated Babu Jagjivan Ram worked as the defence minister during Bangladesh war in 1971 and saved country from the enemy onslaught. He brought many reforms in the defence set up and strove for the rights of Dalits & weaker sections. His services in politics were example to every politician, he added. Later, State minister for Stamps and Registration Mr. Thota Narasimham, District Collector Smt. Neethu Kumari Prasad, MLA's Mr. Dwarampudi Chandra Shekar Reddy, Mr. Seshareddy  offered garlands and paid rich tributes to Jagjivan Ram.
