All arrangements were made for the First Phase of Gram Panchayat Elections, which are to be held Today (i.e, 23rd July) in the district. The polling will be conducted to Rajahmundry & Rampachodavaram divisions for total 297 Panchayats in the district, under the first phase. The polling will be held from 7AM to 1PM and counting would be taken up at 2PM for the ward member posts first and then the sarpanch posts and declared on the same day. A total 6,82,638 voters are going to utilise their vote right from both the divisions in this first phase of polls. Of which, 5,52,924 voters from Rajahmundry division and 1,29,714 are from Rampachodavaram division. Here the details of those divisions;

Unanimously Elected : 13 (Entire Constituencies)

Ward members : 4,050

However, there are heavy rains in some of those areas. Officials taking necessary precautions and they have decided to postpone the elections to third phase, if required.
